Does anyone know where I can find information on how to build a php extension as a shared object? Or can anyone tell me the steps required to do it. The redhat SPEC file for php has a function that I believe builds the .so files for MySQL, IMAP and a few other programs, but I would like to build a few more and don't know where to begin.
