Hello all, I hope this is the right question for this mailing list. I just upgraded from 7.2 to 9 and now apache has to be upgraded. I found a bunch of file under under /var/spool/up2date for apache (see the list below). But I'm not sure what to do with those files (new to Linux) so I decided to download the apache files from the site then install it doing: ./configure, make, make install Will I get into trouble if I do that? Will there be a conflict as far as apache version is concerned? Please note the stuff under /var/spool/up2date is a different version. One last note, currently I cannot bring up my apache. It's broken. I found the instructions for migration. After reading the instructions a few times I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do. Hence I decided to do what I am comfortable to do, to download from the site and then install. Thank you in advance for you advice. -------------- Partial List of files for apache in my system ---------------- ./var/log/httpd ./var/spool/up2date/httpd-2.0.40-21.3.i386.hdr ./var/spool/up2date/httpd-devel-2.0.40-21.3.i386.hdr ./var/spool/up2date/httpd-manual-2.0.40-21.3.i386.hdr ./var/spool/up2date/httpd-2.0.40-21.3.i386.rpm ./var/spool/up2date/httpd-devel-2.0.40-21.3.i386.rpm ./var/spool/up2date/httpd-manual-2.0.40-21.3.i386.rpm ./var/www/manual/programs/httpd.html ... ./etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd
