Hi guys: I have 2 boxes, a 6.x box and a 7.1 box. Both have current updates. I connect to each of them using SecureCRT. With identical profiles of VT220 emulation ANSI color support chosen:
The 7.2 Box displays colors in the output (e.g. ls shows blue for dir's green for executables, white for non-exe file) The 6.x box does not - monochrome only. Does anyone know where/how to set this behavior? echo $TERM reports vt220 on both. set shows COLORS=/etc/DIR_COLORS on the 7.x box, but I see no such variable on the 6.x box. Also, immediately after issuing an ls if I run set, I also see: _=--color=tty on the 7.x box only, 6.x box shows _=ls Dunno if those have anything to do with it. Anyway, any help getting the colors to work on the 6.x box appreciated.
