Based on another post I saw, I just looked at /etc/sysconfig/hwconfig and find that the floppy is detached?
class: FLOPPY bus: MISC detached: 1 device: fd0 driver: unknown desc: "3.5" 1.44MB floppy drive" What does this mean and what can I do about it? Thank you... Also... I am making progress on CDROM and CDRW problems. They open automatically when a music CD is inserted, for example. However, when I go to mount them manually either throuh shell or double clicking on icon I get the message that /mnt/cdrom or whatever does not exist! Yikes! What might have made them disappear?
