Did you try 'text' or 'expert text' ?

Yep, I think you need to type in 'expert' at the first boot prompt instead
of just hitting enter.

I just tried to install my brand new 6.2 package on a Gateway Solo 9100.
Boots fine on CD but I don't even get the installation classes screen,
either in GUI mode and expert mode.
It hangs at the video definition step with a greyed vertically striped
screen. The video chip is a Trident

Just for info purposes I just bought a new gateway solo 9100 with the Trident
cyber 9397 chipset and X works great.
I am running RedHat 5.1 and the configurator found the cxhipset no problems.
