Yes, I have checked my grub.conf and see both OS entries there. The problem there is that when I select the WinXP entry at boot, instead of booting XP it simply shows the Grub screen again.   The lilo.conf I posted had the omission, the one I actually used did have boot=/dev/hda so it would install
