I have RH 5.0 and want to upgrade to ncurses-4.2-6. How do I deal with all the
dependency issues for all the other packages that depend upon libncurses.so.3.0
and complain about the libncurses.so.4.0 that is part of ncurses-4.2-6?
As a general question, how do you upgrade packages like binutils that also
update common libraries used by a zillion packages? Is there an easy way
around this or do you have upgrade each and every package with a linked
dependency? If so, what's the recommended way of doing this? My intention has
been to hold off on an upgrade to RH 5.1 and only update packages as I need
them. Can I do it this way?
