Compiling and installing KDE apps

I am running Red Hat 8.0. I would like to know why I can't seem to compile and install this KDE application from source. I downloaded KFish-2.01 from the KDE website, compiled and did a make install. It copied all the files into /usr/local/kde/lib/kde3. The files were: kfish_panelapplet.la kfish

Hello, Currently Redhat 6 works prefectly without the X windows option or KDE option during the installation and for the past 4 days it hasnt crashed. Now I believe I have to configure X windows to work with KDE mannually like I did with Freebsd and fvwm95. Question:- How do I configure KDE
