Dear Friends:
When I try to connect using wvdial, the modem responds and wvdial
connects. But minicom keeps giving me No Connection: Timeout when I
try to dial the same server.
Any idea?

Check what initialization string wvdial is using, and try that same
string in minicom
initialization string wvdial is using, and try that same
string in minicom before connecting.

A great init string to start with would be:
AT F C1 D2 E1 Q0 V1 L1 M1
(Just as a standard that forces factory default, and then cleans up for
line noise...works with literally every modem
