kinda a newbie here in redhatland, banging my head against fetchmail and firewall
config.. fetchmail does nothing and gives the 'socket' error code. the manpage says
it is failing to open a socket, perhaps a service is missing from /etc/services.
would that be true with redhat 7.1 out of the

partition is free is there are not any system files used by Windowz and
user data file in D: ; more accurately saying, it is free space. When I
used my boot disk, I can run fdisk and it detects all partitions and the

i upgraded my mail server to version 6.1 from 5.2 (linux)
i tried the same sendmail config ( sendmail.cf ) from my old server to the
new one...
we could send messages and our new mail server can receive and store
incoming messages.
but taking messages from the server gets an error message
Autoprobing gave me an error trying to find amount of ram on my Diamond Fire so
I manually entered the amount of ram that is on my card and it appears to work
fine. As it seems you got your Xwindows to work except you appear to have
virtual screen enabled. I found some success running xf86config
The oughat solve your problems:
http://www.xfree86.org/3.3.6/SiS.html
http://203.66.2.110/driver/mb_620.htm
What ever you do, pay attention to the README on the SiS Driver page...
It will work eventually, you just have to keep plugging away at it.

I had a SiS530 related problem and tried all the fixes out there that I
could get my hands on. No joy. Paid $25 for an S3 Virge 4M card. Problem
solved. Runs like a champ on that card. I have another K6-II RH box and
when I feel I need to run X on it, I'll snag another S3 card and be done
This is a hard combo to setup, make sure you use the latest X server, I
have not set one up myself, however I have seen many complaints, I can only
say I have seen minimal people say they actually do have it setup ok...

Hi guys,
I am having some trouble with my X Server config...
My linux box:

Here is the info on the sound card from the PC's manual:

To all,
I have read about the directory structure of linux, but am still a little
confused as to where I should download *.gz files. I see a lot of software
which didn't come with the basic Red Hat 5.1 (I got the CheapBytes CD) but
which I would like to try out. is there any "standard" directo
