Hi,
I'm trying to get XFree86 4 working with Red Hat 7.0 on just installed
system with a SiS630 chipset using a 1024x768 LCD panel.
The problem I'm facing is that the sis_drv.o module that is shipped with
RH 7 dies with the error:
"Symbol memcpy from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/sis_drv.o is
unresolved!"
After that it dies with the LCD showing all colours of the rainbow, and
takes the whole machine with it (cannot even telnet into it anymore).
Could this be a problem with the glibc that is shipped with RH7?
I am rather in a hurry to get this up and running before Thursday (UK
time), as the machine is meant to demo RH7 at a conference in London.
Here is the /var/log/XFree86.0.log that gets generated:
btw, the log really starts as is shown below. I did not strip anything.
Also halfway it shows garbadge in the log (^@ characters). I did strip
those.
