Sorry to interrupt your conversation.
But I got the same error message during RedHat5.0 booting.
Not only that, immediately follows nfs initialization is the amd
initialization. My RedHat5.0 booting get stucked at amd for about
2.5 minutes, then it continues (after a similar error message)

I just have installed Redhat 5 on a intel machine, and nfs will not boot
