Basically I messed up my Wine install pretty bad in RH 8.0.94. I don't exactly know when it stopped working, except that I noticed after I upgraded to Phoebe. To try to fix it I did couple of foolish things (erase some tmp files from wine-server, fiddled around with wine's config file, to name a few), and now wine won't run OK.
So I downloaded a new set of rpms for Wine, installed them, and saw that this actually didn't fix anything. I think ( and I may be wrong) this is because it doesn't replace or regenerate the default config files and registry.
I know that RPM doesn't normally remove config files that have been modified, but I just want a clean fresh install of wine. Is there a way to tell rpm to replace everything, including modified config files?
