Hi all, I am running Redhat 7.1. Occasionally when I suffer from a power blackout, I find that some files the kernel requires have become corrupted or damaged. What is the best way of repairing these files?
I have been thinking about doing: % rpm -Uvh --replacepkgs kernel-2.4.9-31* but I am not sure of whether this is the best way, or whether there will be any unwanted side effects. Also I have several old versions of the kernel sitting around as the recommended way of upgrading is to do a: % rpm -ivh kernel-<new version> To get rid of an old version is it OK to simply do: % rpm -e kernel-<old version> Best regards, Vaughan -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@;redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
