Hi,
I just installed an Adaptec 2930U and it seems to work fine, using the aic7xxx.o
driver module.. It has a scanner and a SCSI Zip drive connected to it at present,
and is quite stable. You have pay attention to the type of scanner you use, since
not all are supported by SANE.

The Adaptec 1505B is a great little cheap no frills (no BIOS) SCSI card I
use a lot for scanners/ZIP drives.
