fdformat /dev/fd0H1440
mkfs -t ext2 -c /dev/fd0H1440
change this for MS-DOS, see what your mkfs man page says
... and then you'll be able to mount it.
This information appears in the DOS/Win to Linux HOWTO.

Hello everybody !
I need an information about formating a floppy disk.
I have a RH 4.2 system.
How can I format a floppy disk in DOS format ?
I want to work in Linux with some DOS floppies.
I know how to mount but I didn't know how to format.
Thanks a lot !!
