Good morning, everyone. I have just gone through the Linux NIS How-to and I think I have my Linux machine set up as a backup NIS server. The master server on my company's network is an old NCR Unix box, if that makes any difference. My question is, short of stopping the NIS service on the master server, how do I verify my installation on my Linux box? I've viewed the files on the backup using ypcat, and all the files look ok. Is there anything else I can do to make sure that the next time NIS on the master dies, the backup server takes over? The Linux server is RH 6.2, running ypbind-1.7-0.6.x, yp-tools-2.4.1, and ypserv-1.3.9-3. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Wayne Stout Hantover, Inc. _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
