if you have 80 M of ram or whatever...do this to your lilo.conf file
located in /etc direc.
append="mem=79M"

Add the append line in your /etc/lilo.conf and re-run lilo:
image=/boot/linux
label=linux
root=/dev/hdb1
read-only
append="mem=80M"
Adjust to your specs..

I've got the following line at the top of my /etc/lilo.conf
append = "mem=128M"
Don't forget to run /s
