Next time you reinstall the OS, use a separate partition for /home
And the next time you reinstall after that, preserve the /home partition
Then everything in everyone's home directory will be preserved
Saves a whole lot of trouble that way

I can't seem to find where I can archive all my emails in evolution. I
want to back them all up, because I will be re-installing my system in
