I'm not sure if this'd solve the problem, but note the error message .. the
server must be suid root.
[hoeteck@home hoeteck]$ ls -al /usr/X11R6/bin/XF*
-rws--x--x 1 root root 1895996 Nov 5 23:52 /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_S3V
Try the same command, and check if your server is indeed

I think you have running the xdm programa, try to run "killall xdm" as
root, hope this is the problem.
