I had to build a new kernel for one of my systems which is running redhat
Linux 7.1. I used the latest kernel available, 2.4.20.
an odd thing happened which I've never seen before. This is a Compaq DL580
with 4 processors. the server itself can handle a max of 4 processors, but

What type of CPU's are in there? I see you've configured for P///. If
they're a P4 (or Xeon based on P4), and w/ proper bios support, you may
have HyperThreading enabled (they seem to be touting

They're only marketing it on newer PC's because the chipsets now
1.40GHz
