try changing the contents of /var/lib/logrotate.status

Sometimes the post/pre rotate scripts will change the PWD. So it could be
looking for the file under a different directory.

However, the ls command shows:
{john}: ls -l /var/log/netconf*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root0
