Hi all,
In the default configuration of sendmail-8.12.5-7 in RH 8, I have added my ip in
/etc/mail/acess and restarted the service sendmail.
[mailserver-ip = 192.168.0.222]
While issuing the command [from 192.168.0.223 ] telnet 192.168.0.222 25, I am not
able to connect and the message says:
you have to edit /etc/sysconfig/mail and set:
SMTPD_LISTEN_REMOTE=yes
If not it only respons to localhost 25.

There is no firewall enabled. Do I need to add anything or change
anything
Read your /etc/mail/sendmail.mc file and you'll see what's happening.
Sendmail only listens to localhost by default.
