Hi NIS gurus, My first crack at using NIS is proving a little rocky. When I run "/usr/sbin/rpcinfo -u localhost ypserv", I get this: rpcinfo: RPC: Timed out program 100004 version 1 is not available rpcinfo: RPC: Timed out program 100004 version 2 is not available When I run "/usr/sbin/rpcinfo -u <hostname> ypserv", I get a good answer: program 100004 version 1 ready and waiting program 100004 version 2 ready and waiting The domainname is set. I figure my networking is screwed up somewhere but I can ping localhost and this machine is, as I type, running http, smtp, pop, Samba, netatalk, etc., to a dozen clients and it's not obvious (to me, anyway) what's missing.
