I just got a US Robotics 56K Voice Faxmodem. Model number is 5685. I
know that some of the USR modems are listed as incompatible, but I don't
believe that this is one of them. It is not the Windmodem version.

ISP. I am much closer to getting it working but not quite
yet. Could someone tell me what is happening on this line

I am trying to get ppp running using my linux 5.0 for Alpha. I am
running it on Axp pci33 machine. I am using Motorola VoiceSurfer 56K
internal modem. I can get the modem to work using minicom.
When i try to run ppp, i can get a serial connection established :
