The proper procedure is to just do it. There's a README with the instructions.

In any case, I see that Andreas has committed a workaround already. Given
the severity of this issue and the relative simple patch required to fix
it, I can backport it and include in Qt 4.3.4 if it's of use.

SVN commit 753484 by thiago:
Copy the Trolltech Phonon backends from kdebase to kdereview, where
they will stay until KDE 4.1 opens up. This has been agreed with the
Release Team.
They should never have been imported to kdebase. I was too eager to
please when I did that, meaning I overlooked the

Right, unfortunately. This code is badly needed, but I won't have time to
review it until at least mid-week this week. I don't think George will
manifest him
in the Qt 4.4 branch, which isn't
exactly what playground means.
How about kdereview, then?

No. And, in h
ed they use TCPSlaveBase.
What we don't have is a generic SSL socket in kdelibs. We've never had that.

That means removing the library and linking the sources wherever they are
needed in kdelibs.

I thought that was the plan all along. Why are we arguing about it then?
Release Team gets code ready and tells Marketing Team: "here, release it
when you find the best time for it".

it, calling it "gamma" or "release candidate" makes no
difference from the technical point of view, but it makes a hell of a lot
from the marketing point of view.
Gamma and RC are the same thing. Or are we trying to invent a *delta*
release -- i.e., after the gamma/RC ph
bs and kdebase
during the weekend. I cannot fix the other modules.

I don't think it's realistic to expect us not to depend on 4.3.
