Anyone know if there are any differences between the Hi-band vs. the UHF
versions of the DB201? ie. can one tuned for 170MHz be retuned for 450?
Looking at the drawings and specs they all seem to be the same with the
exception of the low band ones having a longer support pipe.
Thanks,
Steve

I'd go with the stopped clock. It is correct at least two times a day

Looking around the archieves for posts about this but no luck. Does
anybody have any experience with making a pair of Alinco DR-235's into
a repeater? I am curious as to where you chose to pull the RX audio to

Tony,
What pair did you get? Is there a tone? Looking forward to hearing it on
the air!
Pictures would be cool as well...

hello,
I'm looking for a simple to hook up controller for a high
band repeater but I want it able to receive and transmit on a low band
radio. Example, a repeater on 158.9400 tx and recieve on 150.7900

one of the Caps in line with one of the 2 thermistors. This allowed
the crystal to immediatly swing up and onto Frequency. So as a
temporary fix that is how it will stay until new crystal can be
shipped in with its own element an

Coy,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try this weekend.

I can probably come up with a 20 foot of 1/2 Andrew Heliax and two male N
connectors for the price of shipping.

Well, I made an interesting discovery today.
My local hobby store carries K+S hobby metal. Their 9/16 tubing makes
almost an exact collett for taking up the space between the FSJ1-50 and
the LMR-400 crimp style N connectors. A 3' piece cost me almost $4 with
tax.
So, I cleaned the tubing with

I'd still go with 1/2" just for the sake of longevity. Surely someone local
could give you an end-of-reel piece that long?

Is that like the question: what is more accurate...a clock that is stopped
or one minute fast?
Way back when, I had an SCR-522 2 meter transmitter that had a bit too much
crystal drive. So much in fact, that the crystal would heat up excessively.
Of course it would be drifting to beat the ba
Thanks for all the discussion.
I do appreciate the suggestions of the different
cost-efficient antenna possibilities being fed by 1/2" coaxial cable
variants. They are the real-world info I was looking for.

I would contact them, and let them know what frequency it ended up at,
and take it from there.
Pulling a crystal off it's resonant point is not a very good idea.

I am running a 6 meter repeater split site. I have fold dipole
antennas on both the Transmitter and Receiver on the 6 meter side. The
UHF link is running directional antennas. This way I don't have all
the issues with duplexers etc.
If I can be of further help let me know

Yes Bomar we have used they for years and are very happy. Would do they
again. And you get what you pay for.

Perhaps you could get it to drift by your frequency. Did I say that?

Hi Steve,
I had bought crystals from JAN for many many years, as my father used
them as well for all of our crystal needs. About 4 or 5 years ago, I
started having trouble with JAN built crystals. All of my Micor and
Mastr II crystals seemed to be ending up low in frequency when I

Are you buying the crystal and soldering it in yourself? I have done many that way and about 15% of the time you have to change the cap value in parallel with the trimmer to get it to net. This is true no matter where I get them from. The only sure bet is to send the element in.

I quit buying JAN crystals many years ago. They could never seem to get
