[Repeater-Builder] Dual-Band Repeater Antennas

2004-04-07 Thread n7jys
Does andy one have any thoughts on Dual-Band verses Single-Band Antennas on a Repeater? Is a Dual-Bander a compromise on a Repeater for performance? Can the Dual-Band causes problems because of resonant elements in a nother band? Thanks. Eric (N7JYS) Yahoo! Groups Links <*> To visit your

My personal opinion is that dual-band antennas are not a good choice for a repeater. Yes, such an antenna is a compromise from the git-go, and it does not present a stable impedance to the power amp. By its very design, it may have responses that can create a nightmare of intermodulation mixes to

I have found the mono band antennas have a better pattern. But if tower space does not come easy I would stay with lower gain dual banders. Mike / KB8WLW - Original Message - From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 10:17 AM Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Dua
