I had a problem like this on an M2. The controller had a pullup to +5
volts on the input. The +5 interacted with the voltage on the M2 CAS
and RUS. I added a transistor inverter MPS with 10K in series
with the base and a 5K collector resistor to the +10V. The PU
resistor now fights the
If the A- are tied togeather then that's not the problem. I use the
NHRC2 controller. The CAS doesn't like to source current. I always
use a 2N or a NPN transistor and a 10k resistor connected to the
CAS line to buffer it and it doesn't load down the CAS line.
I hope this helps.

I have used high band IFAS in UHF and visa versa with out much ado.
The injection chain needs to be thought about, i.e. one may need to
change injection side to stay in the tuning range. I am not sure
about low band IFAS especially those with NB. I would guess with out
trying one out that

Hello Jay,
The NHRC-4/M2 should work fine in your radio, as long as the proper
modifications are made to the systems board. The CAS line is buffered with
a transistor in the controller already.
You might want to check that there are no

I'm using 443.375/448.375 in a base station with no problems, wonder if
its just the mobile chassis? The only real difference is the shared comp
line for the Icoms and only a single 10 volt supply in the mobile chassis.

Yes, just the mobile chassis.

And one BIG on
Youre right, the base has tx and rx completely shielded and isolated. Has
anyone pinned down exactly what causes this? I assume its something in
the multiplier or if range? Inquiring minds want to know!

Hello Fred,
Very good points. Question, have you successfully used an IFAS with a
different IF frequency without modifications?
