Typical skill set required is C programming, strong OS knowledge, strong software engineering background. Job Description: Join the team implementing the Policy, Control Plane and Deep Packet inspection components of the Intelligent Services Gateway Architecture. The ISG architecture is currently sold as the Cisco ISG and planned in future to be added as part of enterprise switch platforms. The Cisco ISG is an integral, highly modular component of Cisco IOS Software. The Cisco ISG can act as a network-based, self-contained policy management and enforcement system, or interoperate with external service control systems using open protocols. The ISG functionality is integrated into edge routers and switches and can be used to manage subscriber services for networks using DSL, Ethernet, Wireless Mesh, Hot Spot or other access technologies. Collaborate in efforts to move the software to a componentized single source model, that will allow easy deployment of the ISG solution on many platforms and across multiple Operating Systems. Implement the open protocols used for Northbound and distributed interfaces. Participate on a project team of engineers involved in development of software for the Cisco ISG. Requires use of a strong background in SW design, documentation and implementation, on projects that may include any of the following list of responsibilities: Assist Product Marketing in determining how to create features that meet customer requirements. Design applications involving multiple platforms. Design and develop new software product features. Define product internal/external interfaces. Develop complex, multiple modules of code independently. Write complete functional and design specs independently. Write portions of product spec. Lead development of subsystems. Contribute to the development of project goals, schedules, and resource planning. Perform complex unit level tests. Interface with other functional groups (Test, Solutions Architects, Marketing etc.) Evaluate and recommend tools. Solve complex problems at the system level. Define product level test and simulation strategy. Participate in Cisco's Patent Program. Required Skills: -Knowledge and prior implementation experience in the following areas would be considered a plus: IOS Development, AAA, Diameter, DPI, NBAR, Cable/DOCSIS, Mobile Wireless, Policy, Security, XML, WSDL, BEEP, SOAP, Network Management, QoS, VPDN, DHCP, DNS, high availability and developing products for the Internet service provider marketplace. -Experience with real time operating systems such as QNX is a plus -Experience in developing software that can run on muliple operating systems like QNX, VxWorks, IOS, and Linux is desirable -Typically requires BSEE/CS combined with 2-4+ years related experience, or MSEE/CS combined with 1-2 years of related experience * -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "REQSRESUMES" group.
