That's fine. Thanks for your help, Alan, and apologies for my lack of
response - well buried in all sorts of stuff.

Given the future of this software (or the decision that it hasn't
got one), I'm thinking it's best to drop these.

hat would be better than the current
system("cd src && find . -print | cpio -m -pd dest");
(I'm the poor schmuck who filed this bug after having to wait 15
minutes for it to do this when a simple rename would have sufficed.)
As the comments in the bug say,

Hi,
I would like a sponsor for the following bug:
6526237 Typo "Intenal Error" in pkgadm_msgs.h
Suggested fix (it's a typo, after all!) in the bug report.
Contributor agreement OS0019.

I already have sponsors (Rich Brown and Alok Aggarwal) for this one,
and this will hopefully be finished pretty so
I would like a sponsor for 6424003.
Suggested fix is in the bug report.
(Note that the bug report is slightly inaccurate. It's
broken on all platforms, but the output sometimes looks
plausible.)

es to scan the string, in an identical manner to the
existing fast character checking elsewhere in this file. this also
streamlines the logic a little.

the xpg4 variant is created.
Advantages: only one codebase, future merges are trivial.
Disadvantages: as 2, and it involves messing with the
/bin/ls source and could be very complex to successfully
generate 3 binaries from a single source.

an extra if.
I've also turned off the m flag if -k is given, and vice-versa. (Should
-h be handled in this manner too?)
3. Restructuring
I've defined output formats to simplify the mess of ifdefs in the
printsize() routine.

Just as it says in the bug description, $* has been changed to "$@".
In addition, the file command is execed, which is slightly quicker.

he main loop simply shifts the arguments, avoiding the monkeying
around with expr. As a result, it's much quicker when any arguments are
specified.
- The resulting command is simply execed
I have used this as my personal df for several years now, with no
problems. (It's something I use oft
various typos and removed unused defines.
