So, over the weekend I installed 3.2.1, and discovered that it has the same behavior. Sadly, the small EC2 instance seems to be significantly slower than the real hardware it's replacing, so it's really noticeable. Makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong but I don't see how I could be.
