I. Position Description: The candidate will be primarily responsible for the system development and maintenance of a proprietary ERP system that runs on an IBM AS/400. The applications are written in RPG and CL programming languages. A minimum of 7 years of experience in design, coding and testing of custom modifications and new reports, applications, etc is required. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with SQL/400 as the backend database platform, and be proficient in creating SQL scripts, stored procedures, views, etc. Familiarity with Analysis Services is a plus. In addition, the candidate will have experience working closely with project managers and other technical resources to shape innovative business solutions while also migrating legacy systems. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Work with project managers and other corporate resources to code new functionality and enhancements within the proprietary ERP systems. • Experience using RPG (III, IV, ILE), CL, DDS, OS/400 system commands, and AS/400 system tools (SQL, Query, PFE), Turnover and ROBOT Scheduler. • Responsible for Technical Requirements. • Detailed knowledge and experience using the different technical functionality on an AS/400; including, but not limited to MQSeries, data queues, journals, database triggers, ftp, etc. • Participate in and contribute to the development of design/scope documentation based on business requirements • Experience coding, testing, and debugging applications, modules, functions, and reports on an i-series AS/400. • Test software upgrades and enhancements • Develop and maintain interfaces between Vista and other applications. • Experience coding, testing and debugging applications, modules, functions, and reports on an i-series AS/400. • Adept at developing systems requirements for development of custom integrations. • Ability to do Deep Support during work hours and after hours as necessary. III. Requirements: Experience, Education and Training: • Four year degree in Computer Science or equivalent • A minimum of 7 years RPG (III, IV, ILE) and CL application development experience on an IBM AS/400 using the relevant application development tools. • A minimum of 7 years of experience designing, coding and testing of custom modifications and new reports, applications, etc. • Minimum five years RPG development experience on an IBM AS/400 using the relevant application development tools and functionality, including but not limited to: AS/400 system commands, and AS400 system tools (Query), ROBOT Scheduler.
