Qualifications:
Expert skills required in Cognos BI 8.3 Framework Manager, Report Studio and Query Studio.
Analysis Studio experience is not required. Framework modeling skills should include experience on Teradata database.
Report Studio development skills needed in Lead Report Developer role or Senior Report Developer.
Excellent SQL Skills are required.
Cognos BI 8 administration a plus.
Experience enhancing and extending the Cognos portal is a plus.
The candidate must be involved in at least 3-4 end-to-end DW/BI Cognos implementation projects and should be current with the latest industry trends.
The candidate needs to be self-starter with ability to lead, design, develop and implement reporting capability of Cognos reporting.
Duties:
o Review functional requirements and specification documents; interview end users to refine requirements.
o Research source data locations to validate requirements
o Mentor other programmers assigned to work on the project
o Perform the task designing, developing, and managing reporting/BI solutions to meet business needs
o Develop standards and techniques to support reporting and advanced drill down capabilities
o Serve as a technical resource for other members of the development team in ensuring data processing standards, guidelines and procedures are practiced. Provide production support for end-users of the system, including: training, responding to questions, resolving problems and providing ad-hoc reporting.
o Assist with data modeling and query tuning to achieve maximum performance while retrieving data from database structures.
o Develop and maintain operational and system level documentation.
o Assist development team with test planning, test conditions, and obtaining test data
