Howdy,
I was working today on an 300 mhz IBM running Win 98. The system had
recently been installed with Retrospect 5.11 Workgroup Server. The
LAN was running through a standard 10Bt hub. and there were several
Macs and 2 PC's on the network including the server PC.
Retrospect launches fine,
Has any one had any luck using the VXA tool on a Mac? My version just
bombs with some cryptic error that it can't find the target. Doesn't
crash, but doesn't find the drive either though the drive is listed
in the window.

Well, since we're on 4.3 now, I think we should have Retrospect X (ten) by
about Spring 2009. Please note that this schedule will slip as necessary to
enforce reliability standards
Up until now I have been using the internal DVD-RAM in a G4/450 to backup a
couple of Mac servers. This morning I came in to find Retrospect asking for
another disc as the original was now full.
As a result I'm now looking for some new hardware that has the capacity to
take care of my backup r

One thing to look at:
In the TCP/IP Control panel, set to advanced mode (via the edit menu):

There was some talk on this list last week about the VXA Tool for Mac. It is
now live and posted on the ecrix.com site, in the support section.

Hi Martjin,
It sounds like you're backing up via static IP addresses but the clients
are running on DHCP. Therefore, when they reboot they'll have a new IP

hello,
I'm having problems with the Windows 2000 clients getting backed up. Everything
is setup correctly, cause when i test it, the Backup Server can backup just
fine. After the client reboots, it suddenly doesn't work, unless i stop&start
the Retrospect Client service on the 2000 machine after
