Dear Rietveld Users,

At the end of the 2013 year, François Goutenoire asked you a question relative to standard materials in transmission geometry. Unfortunately, I did not find any answer in the list to his question, but perhaps my research was too fast !

I would like to ask you once more about this subject, because we are about to change our diffractometer in our lab. I am thinking about several possible standards in reflexion and transmission geometries... In reflexion geometry, we have several ideas (open to any suggestion !), but I still search in transmission.
The objective is to test the resolution in such configuration.

François told us about LiF and Diamond, but are they other possible candidates with low absorption (ie 10 to 20cm-1 with Cu radiation) ?

Also, for testing low angles (in reflexion mode), I thought to the well-known silver behenate, or 1-tetradecanol, wich are ~cheap materials...
Any supplementary idea / readings would be greatly appreciated !

Many thanks in advance for all your help ;-)

JM
