d to the folder that LMS scans,
and you play them, the tags are automatically added to the database,
with no need for a "new & changed" or "clear & rescan".
Playing a file from any *other* folder is different, and is intentional.

I assume ypu do a "Clear library and rescan" after making changes to
your tags?
A "look for new and changed media files" doesn't really tidy up all
changes.

It doesn't work using a separator for Album titles.
I changed the Album tag for the track "Mellow Yellow" by Donovan to
"Easy Like Sunday Morning;Mellow Yellow" and rescanned.
The track is no longer listed under the album "Easy Like Sunday Morning"
but appears as a single track in it's own album
Can someone help me populate the "Artist" field with the artist name
that's at the end of the "Title"?
Example:
Title field is: *One Track Mind - Quincy Jones*
Artist field needs to be: *Quincy Jones*
There's quite a few.
Many thanks.

No worries, we solved it.

I've just ripped a CD to WAV using EZCD Audio Converter. Checked tags,
changed album name for this test, and embedded album art with mp3tag

I would remove the album from the drive, do a clear and rescan, put the

Why not remove the ape tags?
I remove all ape tags from acquired mp3 files using "mp3tag".
