Try puddletag's masstagger functionality. You can select one or more tag sources from (musicbrainz, discogs, amazon & freedb) and have it autotag for you. It'll sequentially lookup and try to find a match for each album from each specified tag source and when it's done with the lookups it'll pre

If it is 50k albums i would contact sonata for example and ask what could be done. or any other comercial dB vendor, they may qoute a price for a one time gig fixing this. is this for a web servive or a radiostation, 50k albums is so much that it aint usefull for one single person you run out of

Thats exactly what i am looking for! a master database that contains tag information about albums. It can also be someones personal collection of albums ( any album at all) but it would even be more helpful if it had a lot of classical albums. Any help would be highly appreciated! -- ngats ---

Is not all this info on the CD cover itself and in the booklet ? Some are self explaining as discnumber ? cd1 cd2 cd3 etc . If ripped by somebody else they usually put in neat folders and/or name the album acordingly Or Google it might be well described on the labels own homepage.. -- Mnyb -

What are you looking to achieve? You can already do this: 1 - put the metadata in. Use MP3Tag (Windows) or Puddletag (Linux or Mac) to just add the tags you want 2 - scan the music into SBS - use erland's plugins: Custom Scan here 3 - change the behaviour of the web interface and/or SB menus:
