Try puddletag's masstagger functionality. You can select one or more
tag sources from (musicbrainz, discogs, amazon & freedb) and have it
autotag for you. It'll sequentially lookup and try to find a match for
each album from each specified tag source and when it's done with the
lookups it'll pre

Archivmusic has pretty complete information on CDs. They license their

Thats exactly what i am looking for! a master database that contains tag
information about albums. It can also be someones personal collection of
albums ( any album at all) but it would even be more helpful if it had a
lot of classical albums.
Any help would be highly appreciated!

I don't think so, and I recall 'spoon' saying (or someone saying that
spoon said) that the commercial database holders wanted a lot more
money to license the databases for post-rip use.

Try dBpoweramp
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/cd-ripper.htm
it has better metadata then just freeDB
It uses http://english.digibit.es/index.php/sonata-db
I don't know of any tagger software that uses commercial databases like
sonata or AMG that would up the quality considerably.

Is not all this info on the CD cover itself and in the booklet ?
Some are self explaining as discnumber ? cd1 cd2 cd3 etc .
If ripped by somebody else they usually put in neat folders and/or name
the album acordingly
Or Google it might be well described on the labels own homepage..

What are you looking to achieve? You can already do this:
1 - put the metadata in. Use MP3Tag (Windows) or Puddletag (Linux or
Mac) to just add the tags you want
2 - scan the music into SBS - use erland's plugins: Custom Scan here
3 - change the behaviour of the web interface and/or SB menus:
Hello,
please does anybody have a lot of metadata on music albums most
especially classical albums? i need metadata on these following tags;
