Spoon probably knows as he owns AccurateRip. :) I see that you are a pro
with dbpoweramp. It's a great program with Superior metadata access.

I use FOOBAR2000 for ripping MediaMonkey Gold for metadata, haven't
found a more powerful combination as yet ...

Agree. And there have been lots of improvement and work for dbpa.
Better accuraterip (multiple pressings, etc), perfectmeta,
I agree with the other posts. The ability to add cover art at the
ripping stage saves a considerable amount of time besides the multiple
sources for tags.

Copy' as a finished, commercial product. It uses a different, paid
metadata provider, which is partly the reason for charging for the
product. Easy Audio Copy has a dead-simple user interface and can only
rip to FLAC or MP3, so
Is there a ripper (et.al.) that has supplanted dBpoweramp? or is it
still (their forums seem rather quiet) a preferred method for the job
(it was not without its glitches but always seemed to work out in the
end) as I had a crash recently and lost it.

I haven't seen any ripper that I think is better than dBpoweramp. Or
even close, especially when it comes to handling online metadata
sources.
