We have figured out how to send it to the other rivendell machine on the
local network. All we need to figure out is how to send the closure to
NexGen. Does anyone know what command I would need to enter to send a
command to NexGen to make it receive the closure and go on to the next item
in the lo

hahahahahahahahaha, like I posted once, it's great software but still too geeky
for most users. But the "coffee maker" would be a great feature, specially on
friday's when people bring donuts.

Yes, assuming that the actual stream decoding is being handled by some other
process or

Define what you mean by 'closure'. A switch that literally completes a circuit

Hi Geoff,
That sounds like the problem alright. We talked about your solution
and they didn't want a hard timed event. I suggested that we could
possibly do what you do but with a "make next", but the clock guy
didn't want to make a bunch of new clocks, especially this close to
going liv

Looks correct from here. If all else fails, try looking at the serial port via

Yep totally agree. Rivendell can do anything if you set your mind to
it. I still recon the "Make Coffee" feature should work right out of
the box :)

Hi All :)
Is is possible (using RDCatch) to record a live web stream (3 hours
long) and play it back an hour late ( 1st hour plays while second is
recording?), this would be an alternative to having a presenter in our
studio doing nothing until we need him to shut down a PC that is not
needed
Greetings,
As I monitor this list each day, I am constantly struck by the number of
questions about Rivendell from new users,
legitimate questions for the most part, but a lot having to do with
interface with something or making something happen
at a certain place in the log or at a certain time.
It is located in a different building. What we really would like is this.
When we send a closure command in rivendell, NexGen would receive it. We
also have another Rivendell machine that will need to receive the closure.
Thanks

I can try it with reboot

Are the machines located in the same building or are they separated by great
geographic distance? That would decide whether we just run some STP between
computers or use IP.

We have a stream setup at one location with Rivendell installed and need to
send a tone or a closure to a NexGen Digital Machine in another location.
What would we have to do, to do this. We could setup another Rivendell
machine if needed. We have tried sending tones but the machine running

Once a key binding has been defined by the manager, I find
that X won't re-define it to the default without being

Has anyone got one of these working with Rivendell?
According to SWITCHERS.txt, I'm supposed to set the baud rate to 19200,
and put the switcher in MIX mode.
I can get the switcher to work using minicom, so my hardware is OK.
In rdadmin, under Manage Hosts, under opheodrys (my host name), uner
