Hi,
I'm going to cc this back to the mailing list just in case anyone else finds it
useful.
My scripts are a definite work in progress at the moment. I can't for the life
of me figure out how to define say a USER=radio variable and then use it later
when you make upstart run as that user (wit
Greetings Rene,
It should be a bootable live cd with install option.
Could be download error.
Let me say this however, after some trials with the zoren distro it seem to
have some instability problems.
So i wouldn't plan on using it, sorry.
I do have a new debian squeeze installation iso I am go

For me, darkice works best when it shouts to a server o
Hi Tim,
I've finally had some time and I have a clean hard disk I wanted to install
your Rivendell 2.1.4 on.
Just to make sure I'm not doing anything stupid, does your ISO boot a
computer for install, or do I need to first install Ubuntu and then this?
I thought it was a complete install, but it

Hi all,
I've used darkice for over a year now and it kind of works but its not
as solid as I'd like (plus it seems to be dying more frequently lately
probably by my own fault. I also notice it hasn't been updated for
nearly 2 years despite obvious problems).
So I decided to spin up ubuntu ser
Yeah sure..
But do you think I should investigate other configuration files or chmod/chown?

Gregg,
that's interesting, even if it's far beyond from my knowledge :-)
Anyway how can you deal with that? Do you set a specific rivendell user or not?
I think the step I usually do are quite common for every setup. My
experience taught me that you should check ownership and permissions
of:
- /var
The practical issue, from my perspective, is that there are "server" processes
running in the background which are managed by the "service" interface.
Practically, I really think that a better choice would be to run and manage
those processes from the foreground. If the "GUI" is really the con
Hi,
Glad to know it didn't break anything (not that it should have but you
never know). I work for a small radio based just outside of Birmingham,
England which broadcasts on Short wave to India and Pakistan. Due to
the weirdness of the sun and the fact we're satellite linked to the

Hi Wayne
I tried out your Rivendell Hotkeys Java Panel changer applet... it
works real well... and it's so easy to use.
What part of the world are you in? So I can let the Boss know that
Wayne from country name helped me fix it and made the application.
Swapping the 50 banks around only took me ab
I have found similar problems too.
The only way I could manage Rivendell to work properly is doing
everything as unix user. If I login in Linux as 'alessio' rd.conf must
be set as 'alessio', /var/snd must belong to 'alessio' and so on...
That's the only way I found...
I tried several Linux distros
