It might be something like turn off UFI Boot or something?

I have encountered problems installing Debian 10 on Proliant DL380 G4 - dual
Xeon procs. It had previously ran Debian 7 fine. Finally abandoned the idea and
went with a newer hardware design. Not sure if that helps but sounds like a
similar issue.

a kernel panic, not syncing. I went into Grub and it sees the boot disc.
