Personally I love jackd, but I only use it when I need to connect more
applications to the sound card, and always running under the same user that
rivendell's daemons runs.

THanks for the apt-get update input.
Fixed and almost ready. Old Database/sound files happily recognized.
Notes:
RDImport running as a process (checked on the system monitor). Each time I
shutdown/restart
the message that RDImport is active appears.
Pulseaudio removed from scratch, Alsa in p
Are you sure you added Tryphon repo in your '/etc/apt/source.list' ? Did
you 'apt-get update' then?

If you want to install packages from debian.tryphon.eu, you should find
all needed (and fresh) information in the related wiki page :

As always on Debian/Ubuntu, don't forget to update apt-get indexes after
adding a new source :
