[RDD] daemon start up and shutdown

Greetings, I have six new installs of 2.5.3 using deb packages on ubuntu 12.04 and can't get /etc/init.d or service commands to start up rivendell or shut it down. I have to manually kill caed, ripcd, and rdcatch to shut it down. anyone had this situation on debian based systems? Cheers Tim ___
