Hi all,

Kodi 21 has its first release candidate now available.

Key features:
- HDR (It works, I've tested it!)
- Better Pipewire support
- Works better with FFMpeg 6 / Python 3.12+

Requirements:
- Addon rebuilds (such as Inputstream Adaptive)
- Compile time only requirement on apache-groovy (binary Java Jar)

HDR requirements:
- GLES renderer (we do not ship this today, should we? other distros do)
- GBM window (no X11, no Wayland compositor)

Caveats so far:
My test system is running a AMD Ryzen 5 3400G CPU and when using the GLES renderer it appears frame limited to 18-19 FPS. This is less then ideal when almost all media is ~24 FPS. I have not spent any troubleshoot time yet on why the FPS is low.

This is a general announcement. I'd like to introduce Kodi 21 RC1 to Rawhide ASAP. I would also like to propose to push it into Fedora 40. Thoughts?

Regards,
Michael
