OK.
$ dnf repolist enabled
shows rpmfusion free/free updates/ nonfree /nonfree updates all for
F24 are enabled.
the akmods --force is still failing.
Still looking for suggestions please.

F24 won't boot.
F23 lasts for about 6 minutes then goes back to an F24 boot terminal and needs
a cold boot.
This from Windows machine
1. Yumex not installed.
2. dnf cannot find yumex.
Question. With the update, will rpmfusion still be in my list of repos, to
get the nvidia driver? And will it p

No need to apologise, we all had to learn once.
For example I've just found out there's now a yumex-dnf so that is interesting.
OK.
Looking at what you have.
I'd be inclined to uninstall akmod-nvidia
Then re-install kmod-nvidia-4.5.7-300 and see what happens.
Can you just confirm

So for my card which driver please - using yumex

yumex not yum
use yumex as it has a great search facility, this then allows you to

$ rpm -qa | grep nvidia
kmod-nvidia-4.5.7-300.fc24.x86_64-358.16-2.fc24.x86_64
kmod-nvidia-4.5.6-200.fc23.x86_6
Depends on the version of the card.
In F23 do..
rpm -qa | grep nvidia
see which version of the driver you installed.
Then in F24, load yumex and search for nvidia, install the same driver.

With Fedora 23 I was using a command to update
the driver (I think) from rpmfusion. I made a note...
but can't find it.
