I hate to admit it, but I need some hand-holding to get RRDTool installed
on my NT box. I'm not much of a perl guru, I know just enough to be able
to put simple scripts together. I hate to ask for help on something that
should be this simplistic, but I'm stumped.

You need the rate which you query from the firewall to go into RRDtool
"as is" --> use gauge.
