This sounds familiar. I had this error on my NSLU2 running Etch and
rrdtool 1.2.15. See my post "Malloc error when creating graph (Debian on
NSLU2/ARM)" and the follow-ups in this list, starting on Feb. 5, 2008. You
should be able to find them i

Here is the original command:
/usr/local/bin/rrdtool graph /tmp/powerO
If this turns out to be 64bit specific, I'm interested in trying to reproduce
this on a F12 64bit system.
Would you please be so kind to post the plain rrdtool graph command that fails?

I tried RRDtool 1.4.2 and 1.3.9.
That was on a Ubuntu 9.10 / 64 bits Linux (2.6.31)

Hi
Merry Christmas to all of you reading ...
Stretching the limit of rrdtool today ; I encountered an error I
hadn't seen before:
"ERROR: malloc im->gdes[gdi].data"
I was trying to plot monthly data; from the 1st to the end of each
month ; like from 1/1/2009 to 31/1/2009, then 1/2/2009 to 28/2/2
Just to let the list know too: Tobi fixed this issue on the trunk and on
the 1.2 and 1.3 branches:
http://oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool-trac/changeset/1529
I'm guessing therefore that it will be included in the next release.

Hi Peter,
indeed rrdxport was/is totally broken for exports where the
different datasources do not use the same step size ...
http://oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool-trac/changeset/1529
fixes this for 1.2.x, 1.3.x and trunk.
thanks for the test example, and also for reminding me that your
report did go u

Hi all,
On Sept 9 I posted what I think is a bug here, and have gotten no
responses so far. Was there something wrong with my report?

I provided a simple test case where "rrdtool xport" cannot correctly

I'm have two rrd files with different steps. I try to "see" three
values: a DEF from each of these files, and a CDEF which is an average
of each of them. It seems rrdtool graph does it "right", but rrdtool
xport does it "wrong". Do you agree?

Hi.
When I update my rrd and then fetch the values, there is one value in my
data file that does not match the rrd fetched value. The value comes up
as NaN.
For example, here is what I run to create the rrd:
/usr/local/rrdtool-1.0.37/bin/rrdtool create binds.rrd --start
1067756400 --step 3600 D

I've tried everything, and I believe this is a definite bug.
I just tried the tutorial from the website:
http://www.rrdtool.com/tutuorial/rrdtutuoiral.html
I've tried it on both RedHat Linux 8.0 and Solaris (Sparc) v9
and I get the same problem... exponents
