FWIW I am getting segfaults on this as well, with the latest ubuntu packages
from the repo.

The adiscon package (7.3.4-1adiscon3) does apply my patch but does
*not* run autoreconf, so the changes have no effect.
If you patch the configure.ac and Makefile.am files you need to run autoreconf.

I've tried again with the new packages and I'm getting the same results as
before:
- segfault when I send a test message
- omelasticsearch doesn't load because of the undefined symbol "pow"
At this point I'm not sure if I'm using different packages than last time.
