*Job Title*

Coordinator of Machine Learning Labeling





*Position Objective*

This position is responsible for coordinating the labeling efforts of
multiple machine labeling endeavors; for both text and image data
annotation. Job duties include designing labeling jobs, tracking job
completion, training labelers for consistent and quality annotations,
collaborating with subject matter experts, and finding optimal methods of
delivering labeled data.

While some labeling will always be part of the job, the primary role will
be in developing a program to generate tens of thousands of quality labels.
This position is anticipated to grow into Manager of Machine Learning
Labeling, as the program grows to require multiple full-time employees as
direct reports.



Funding is provided for conferences and travel, to stay current with the
latest techniques, as well as top vendors in the ML labeling space.





*Primary Accountabilities*



*Labeling Strategy Development *(30%)

   - Works with data scientists and project managers to design and
   facilitate processes for generating labels for supervised machine learning
   models.
   - Provides feedback on job designs, reflecting on annotators’ prior
   struggling points.
   - Ensures results are available to data scientists, deciding on
   convenient methods of data transfer.

*Annotation Coordinating *(30%)

   - Coordinates and onboards labelers.
   - Trains labelers in how to use the software and to answer consistently.
   - Communicates with data scientists the progress of labeling jobs and,
   if appropriate, when label resources will become available.

*Annotation Progress Monitoring *(25%)

   - Actively monitors the progress of annotation jobs to ensure job
   completes in a timely fashion.
   - Anticipates future time delays and proactively scheduling around them.
   - Hand-labels images and/or text for model training data; either ad hoc
   or to finish a job close to completion.

*Domain Expert *(15%)

   - Keeps current on third-party offerings for machine learning labeling.
   - Acts as a resource to data scientists on how to create labeling jobs in
   the labeling platform of choice.
